Sugar Cookies
Cream together the following:
1 cup margarine, softened
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
Add these to the mixture:
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
Mix together these ingredients and sift into the creamed mixture:
1 teaspoon baking soda
4 cups plain flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon salt
Refrigerate until chilled. Shape dough into balls about the size of a small jawbreaker. Press down with a fork and sprinkle with colored sugar, red or green. Bake at 350 for 12 minutes or less. Do not let them brown. Let them cool before handling. It makes about 10 dozen.
